Walking and Weight Loss
We all (or almost all of us) want to lose weight. We want to look great, feel healthy, and be fit. Weight loss is a
very common topic of discussion and a very common worry. However, although we don't like being overweight, we also don't
like dieting. Our eating habits are very much part of our life style and changing one's diet is extremely difficult.
Even those who manage to diet and lose weight will usually go back to their previous eating habits quite quickly and put
back on the lost weight.
Can walking be an alternative way to weight loss?
When thinking of losing weight, we usually think about eating less and giving up all the food we love. That's not fun.
Let's change our way of thinking: Instead of eating less, we can burn that extra fat by walking. Walking gives you a
chance to lose those extra pounds and get into shape without giving up all the food you love. Of course, it would be
better if you can combine you walking program with eating healthier food. Though even without it, if you walk regularly
you will be in good shape.
Walking is also fun. It is affordable for every budget, it is easy, and it helps you feel healthy and stay healthy.
If you walk with the right technique and pace, regular walking will help you lose weight without dieting.
Can I Lose Weight Without Dieting?
Yes, you can. When you start walking slowly, and then work yourself up, you are sending messages to your muscles
that you need them to burn away all that excess fat you have. Your muscles will have to leave the sugars in your body
alone, as you will be using them to get energy, and burn away the fats. The more you walk the more fat and calories you
burn. Burning calories is an alternative way you lose weight: Instead of not eating these calories, you will be eating
and enjoying them, but then you get rid of them by walking. If you burn more calories than you consume, you will be
losing weight.
So what should you do if you want to lose weight? Walk. Walk and walk and walk. Once your body is warmed, walk at
a good brisk pace so you'll allow your body to burn those calories away. Work yourself up to at least 30 minutes per day
of good walking and you'll soon see a great improvement in your muscle tone and weight. You'll be amazed at how great
you feel and how much energy you now have as well!
