Live a Healthy Life
How do you live a healthy life? What is a healthy lifestyle?
There are many definitions to what can a healthy life style. Some will emphasize the food we eat,
others will think about fitness and exercise. Others define a healthy lifestyle more by the
psychological aspects: Less stress, more relaxation. I think there are a few principles everybody
will agree about:
- Food and Body Weight: Living healthily means consuming mostly healthy food, with a good variety of
fruit and vegetables. It also means not over-eating, so our weight will not exceed what our body was
designed to carry.
- Fitness: In order to stay healthy you must exercise every day, and keep your body in good shape.
Don’t be a coach potato. Exercise is also good for you mental health. Being out in the fresh air or
swimming in the pool does wonders to depressed people.
- Keep relaxed and happy: An overstressed person is more prone to come down with illness. Many
grave diseases were found to have relation to the person’s mood. Being surrounded by a loving family
and friends contributes to overall health of a person, not only mentally, but also physically.
Here is a list of things that will help you lead a healthy life:
- Drink pure water. Drink often.
- Eat more fruits and vegetables.
- Expose your skin to the sun.
- Pick an exercise program you enjoy.
- Get enough sleep.
- Get involved in the community. Help others. Reach out.
- Get regular checkups by your doctor.
- Go to the dentist regularly.
Following is a list of things to avoid:
- Don’t smoke.
- No drug abuse.
- Don’t overeat.
- Don’t overwork.
